Hawaii is home to some of the best surf spots and beaches in the world. Below is a collection of some of the best beaches of Hawaii—beyond simply just being beautiful, these simply cannot be missed.

Hawaii is most famous for its beaches, so it seems somewhat redundant to try to identify which beaches are the best beaches of Hawaii. What we can do, however, is pin point those beaches that are so phenomenal, so breathtaking that they simply cannot be missed. These truly are the best beaches of Hawaii in every sense of the word.

Lanikai Beach

The first on our list the best beaches of Hawaii is Lanikai Beach, on the island of Oahu. This beach is on the Windward Coast, and comprises one mile of perfect powdery sand and lovely trees. The water off the coast is clear and blue, and calm all year round. This is an ideal beach for swimming and snorkeling, as well as kayaking and island hopping. Two small offshore islands are a beautiful addition to the scenery, as well as a great day trip destination.

On Big Island you will find Hapuna Beach, whose crescent shape and impeccable layout have won it a spot in countless travel advertisements. This is one of the best beaches of Hawaii’s Big Island. It is perfect for swimming, snorkeling and bodysurfing. When the winter rolls around, however, the waves are enormous. This beach is equipped with picnicking and camping facilities, so you can stay right on the sand for a very reasonable price.

The best beaches of Hawaii’s Molokai Island are concentrated in Papohaku. This is one of the longest beaches in the state, and makes for a great sunset spot. The island of Lanai also boasts its fair share of natural endowment. Hulopoe beach is one of the best beaches in Hawaii because of its tide pools and lovely beach accommodation. It houses the Marine Life Conservation District, which is an incredible spot to go snorkeling. This area is also great for diving.
